Flashback Friday

April 3, 2009

It’s very hard for me to believe that a year ago today I was arriving in Chicago and meeting up with 14 girls from across the country that I had previously only talked to online.  We call ourselves the “JKnotties.”  We all got married in July of 2007, and we met ‘online’ at theknot.com on the July 2007 bride board.  We all planned our weddings together, vented some of our frustrations, and even after the weddings and honeymoons were past we’d all just become really close friends.  It’s nice to have a group of friends at about the same point in life to talk to about things, and I’m so glad to have met these wonderful girls!

It was such a fantastic weekend!  We had so much fun in the places we went, but I think the most fun was had just getting to know each other in person.  One of the funniest side-effects of the weekend was matching up voices with faces.  You wouldn’t think that you would have an idea of how someone talks by seeing their photos, but it’s true… and accents from across the country were fun to get used to as well!

What’s even harder to believe about these awesome girls is that one of them found out that weekend she was pregnant, and now has a beautiful baby girl, and four other girls are now pregnant, one with twins!  What a great network of girls to have as a part of my life. 😀  I hope we can have another get together soon!

Happy Friday everyone!
